We provide older people’s mental health services in Bury, Oldham, Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, Stockport and Tameside and Glossop.

Our services are specialised to help diagnose dementia as early as possible, so we can support you to remain as healthy as possible while living with the illness. We can also provide advice and support if a family member of someone you look after has dementia.

Our services can also support you with a range of moderate to severe mental health problems, such as depression, bi-polar disorder, delirium and severe anxiety.

Some of our services are based in community buildings and clinics, but we also have a number of specialist wards and units located on hospital sites.

Memory and dementia services

Our memory services help to diagnose dementia as early as possible, providing you with on-going emotional and practical support to help you can live well with dementia.


We can also offer support if you’re a carer or a member of your family has been diagnosed.

Older people's wards

We have a number of wards that care for older people with dementia or moderate to severe functional mental health problems, such as depression, bi-polar disorder, delirium and severe anxiety.

Our wards can support you if the intensity and expertise of the care needed wouldn’t be suitable for a community setting.

Liaison mental health services

These services support over 65s who are experiencing physical and mental health problems and have been admitted to a hospital ward.

We provide a full mental health assessment, support the general nurses who care for the patient and assist with discharge planning.

We have two day hospitals which can support you if you’ve been referred to our older people’s mental health services, and you’re having problems carrying out every day activities and hobbies.

We can help you to maintain or develop your skills so you can remain healthy, at home and in the community.
