Rosewood Ward is an acute mental health ward for older people (over 65 years).

We are a female organic assessment ward. We provide specialist assessments, treatment, and care if you have a diagnosis of dementia, cognitive impairment, or similar conditions.

We can help if you can no longer be supported or cared for in the community, or other care settings. The length of time you need to stay in hospital can vary. We work closely with you, your relatives and carers, and the wider healthcare team so you are able to safely leave hospital and that the appropriate services are in place.

We are a 10-bed unit with individual en-suite bathrooms. You will be allocated a consultant psychiatrist during your stay, who will meet with you regularly to review your care and treatment.

We are a team of mental health nurses, nursing assistants, an occupational therapist and activities co-ordinator and a therapy support worker. We have support from allied health professionals, including physiotherapy and speech and language therapy.

We will provide you with an information pack on admission about the work we do, and the services offered at The Meadows, to support you during your time in hospital and to support your relative and carers.

Visiting Rosewood

You are always welcome to visit your loved ones on the ward, please contact us before to arrange this. We will try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible but ask that you please try to avoid visits during mealtimes.

Rosewood ward is now completely smokefree, meaning smoking isn't allowed anywhere in or out of the hospital.

If you’re a patient on a ward and usually smoke, we have a variety of options to support you whilst in hospital. Please speak to any member of the ward team to discuss how we can support you.
