If you're referred to hospital or other NHS premises for specialist NHS treatment or diagnostic tests by a doctor, dentist or another primary care health professional, you may be able to claim a refund of reasonable travel costs under the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS).

The NHS website explains who's eligible for the scheme and how to make a claim: Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS)

It is also possible to submit claims to cover costs for children or for someone to escort you to the appointment, where this is required.

As we don't have cashier offices across our services, claims are submitted by completing the HC1 form at the link above and sending it to NHS Business Services Authority. The full address is included on the form.
