Details of restaurants, cafes and catering options at the hospital sites where our services are based. Please note we run the Birch Hill site, the other hospitals and their facilities are run by different NHS organisations.

Birch Hill Hospital – Café Connect

Café Connect is in the John Elliot Unit at Birch Hill. It's open from 8.30am-3.30pm, Monday - Friday (closed on Bank Holidays).

It serves Starbucks drinks and a variety of hot and cold food, with plenty of space to relax, recharge and meet with others.

All profits go towards Pennine Care Charity. This funds important work and services for local communities, patients and staff, that are in addition to those paid for by the NHS – such as supporting community-based groups, staff development projects, or enhancing therapy areas.

Cafe Connect also offers volunteer opportunities, where you can gain valuable experience, build confidence, and develop key skills.

Birch Hill Hospital – Haven Café

Haven Café is in the CAMHS (child and adolescent mental health service) building at Birch Hill.

It's open from 8.45am-2pm, Monday-Friday (closed on Bank Holidays). Breakfast is served 8.45 – 11.15am, lunch served 12–2pm.

Our catering team cook a range of homemade dishes daily. There are weekly chefs’ specials and meal deals, healthy options, vegan and halal dishes, and themed day menus. 

 

Broad Oak is a restaurant away from the main hospital building, serving fresh, homemade food.

Birches Café is in the main outpatients building, offering a selection of hot and cold food and drinks.

The Café Royal is on the main corridor, serving freshly prepared traditional home cooking from breakfast through to evening.

Bistro Bar offers jacket potatoes, hot grab-and-go items, coffee, and cakes.

Oasis Café is based in the Oasis Building, where many of our mental health services are located.

It serves a range of hot and cold food and drinks, including sandwiches and freshly made cakes. The café offers a takeaway service and also has an outdoor garden area with seats.

Stepping Hill Hospital has several other restaurants and cafes, including the main restaurant, Costa at Oak House, Take 5 Shop, and High Peak View café and shop.

The Hartshead Restaurant is based upstairs in the Hartshead Building. It offers a full range of hot meals, hot and cold snacks, beverages and sandwiches.

In the Hartshead Bulding there is also a Costa Coffee and League of Friends, which is a snack bar/teabar.

The Ladysmith Cafe is situated in the Ladysmith Building on Fountain Street.
