Our psychological therapies team held this session for colleagues working for Northern Care Alliance NHS Group.

The aims are to consider the experience and complexity of grief, what our patient's families are experiencing at present ,and that it’s normal for you to share some of the experiences of grief in these difficult times.

As part of this we will consider what normal grief reactions may look like, and whether there are some people who may struggle more.

Most importantly the session considers what you, as healthcare workers, can do to maintain your own wellbeing, while supporting families at this difficult time.

This presentation is about developing a new psychology service, what psychology can offer, the referral pathway and what the limitations are.

It was delivered by Dr Amy Povey, principal clinical psychologist, to colleagues in the older people's secondary care mental health service at The Meadows, Stockport.

It focuses mainly on the older people's community mental health team, but parts of it also relate to developing psychology within memory assessment and inpatient services.
