Bevan Place

We are a 16-bed inpatient unit based at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport.

We provide mental health rehabilitation and high support to men over 50 who have a severe and enduring mental health issue, like schizophrenia, and are ready to step down from a medium or low security setting.

We have a proven track record in managing patients who have spent a substantial period of time in a secure environment.

Many of our patients also have varying degrees of cognitive impairment and physical illness.

The typical length of stay is two to five years, although longer term placements can be offered if required.

We usually discharge our patients into nursing homes, residential homes or sheltered housing accommodation.

Bevan Place is now completely smokefree, meaning smoking isn't allowed anywhere in or out of the hospital.

If you’re a patient on a ward and usually smoke, we have a variety of options to support you whilst in hospital. Please speak to any member of the ward team to discuss how we can support you.
