Our 0800-helpline has now been replaced by NHS 111 Mental Health.
You can continue to quickly and easily access urgent mental health support from local mental health practitioners, by phoning 111 and selecting mental health option 2.
NHS 111 mental health is for people of all ages. It’s available 24/7, free of charge and you can call for yourself or someone else.
A practitioner will listen and help you get the urgent support you need. With your permission, they can access your patient notes if you’ve previously received mental health support. This will reduce you having to repeat information and allow them to better support you.
We always planned to close the 0800-helpline once our NHS 111 Mental Health team was established.
You’ll now only have to remember one simple number that you can call anytime, anywhere.
NHS 111 Mental Health is provided jointly by us and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH), along with voluntary, community and social enterprise colleagues. GMMH has also closed their 0800 helpline.
As a safeguard, for a period of time, people who phone the 0800-helpline numbers will be redirected to NHS 111 Mental Health via an answerphone message.
