We held a special event on Wednesday 21 October to celebrate our amazing volunteers, who give their time, skills and enthusiasm to support our services.
The event, funded by Pennine Care Charity, was an opportunity to say a big thank you to volunteers who support our patients, services and teams in many different ways.
Among those celebrated were Jan, who runs a music group for our wards, and Roger, who helps collect patient feedback and supports reception at our Health and Wellbeing Recovery College.
We also celebrated Temi, our first Pennine Care Charity volunteer, alongside volunteers at very different stages of their journey with us.
Daniel, our longest-serving volunteer, is approaching an incredible 10 years supporting our workforce team, while Ipeachen, our newest volunteer, is looking forward to developing their knowledge of NHS mental health services.
Our volunteers span the generations too. At 17, Orla is our youngest volunteer and hopes to build a career in the NHS, while our oldest volunteer Vincent, 93, supports patients on Saffron ward in Stockport.
The event also recognised our governors, who volunteer their time to represent communities across our local boroughs and help make sure local voices are heard.
