As part of our Great Big Thank You Week, we're celebrating the colleagues who've dedicated decades of their lives to the NHS.
This year our colleagues who received 'long service awards' for reaching 20, 30, 40 or 50 years, have achieved a combined total of 2,660 years of services.

Bev Moon, ward sister at Rosewood Ward in Stockport - 40 years:
“Ever since I was young I’ve always wanted to care for people and my mum was a nursing auxiliary too.
I volunteered for 12 months in Tameside to see if I liked it before becoming a student nurse in 1981. I qualified in 1983 as an enrolled Nurse and started working at Stepping Hill Hospital on the working age wards, before I completed my conversion in 1996.
I now work at The Meadows and have never lost focus through the years. I love my job as a Ward sister.”
Kim Howe, a domestic assistant at Birch Hill - 30 years:
“I'm proud to have been in the NHS for 30 years and I love my job as a domestic goddess assistant.
I find it rewarding and it’s a real pleasure to work with some amazing staff and patients. I’m on Prospect Place now, but I’ve worked all across Birch Hill in my time and it’s been great everywhere.”
