Pennine Care Charity has successfully secured £32,600 from the Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund.
This funding will transform land behind the Floyd Unit at Birch Hill Hospital into a welcoming community garden and growing space. This will help to provide a calm, peaceful and natural environment to support wellbeing.
Claire Maw, our associate director for Rochdale, added: “I’m really pleased about this funding because it will create a fantastic outdoor space for our patients and colleagues. It will support wellbeing and give teams a chance to recharge, as well as offering patients a place to engage with therapeutic activities."
The project also supports our green plan, which focuses on sustainability and improving health while tackling climate change.
