#Thrive are running new support groups for young people in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, and their parents.

The sessions aim to help you if your emotional health and well-being is being affected by bereavement.

Children and young people will be in one group, with a separate group for parents in another room. Both will be run by experienced qualified bereavement counsellors. 


The support group runs every two weeks, for six sessions, all 5-6pm:

  • Ages 7-12: Starts Wednesday 19 February, (then 4 March, 18 March, 1 April, 15 April, 29 April).
  • Ages 13-18: Starts Wednesday 26 February, (then 11 March, 25 March, 8 April, 22 April, 6 May).

All sessions will be at: KYP Day Centre, Bellfield Road, Rochdale, OL16 2UP.

You will get the chance to talk in confidence, gain more knowledge on the grieving process and give each other support.

It will be a safe space for you to cry, laugh and shout if needed; with the message that you are not alone.

There is also a waiting area with refreshments for those not attending a group. 

Link4Life will be offering an arts and craft session for the under sevens, including any other siblings not taking part.
