Pennine Care People Awards 2024 - guest information

Date: Friday 29 November 2024

Venue: Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, Oxford Road, Manchester, M60 7HA.

Time: 6pm to 10.30 pm (welcome drink from 6pm to 7pm. After party until 1am).

Please arrive no later than 6.45pm to allow time to seat you. Food will be served promptly at 7pm.

  • 6pm to 7pm: enjoy a welcome drink and chat to colleagues.
  • 7pm to 9pm: three course dinner(details below)
  • 9pm to 10.30pm: main ceremony:
    • Hear from international mental health ambassador Poppy Jaman who describes herself as a global voice of authority on workplace mental health.
    • Poppy will then lead the awards section of our evening when we'll learn more about our fabulous finalists and unveil our nine overall winners.
  • 10.30pm to 1am: dance the night away with our DJ. Our private bar will be open for drinks and accepts cash or card payment.

Our venue can cater for all dietary requirements. Please make your requirements known on the RSVP form.  Get in touch if you have any questions.

Starters:

  • Cheddar cheese, gochujang custard tart, crispy shallot, music bread, parsley oil (v|d|g) 901kcal
  • Roasted red pepper hummus, crispy onion furikake, marinated courgette, linseed cracker (ve) 651kcal

Main:

  • Garlic and thyme-roasted chicken, squash risotto, girolles, charred spring onion, sage (d) 768kcal
  • Baked aubergine, potato and puy lentil daal, tenderstem broccoli, paneer (v|d|ve-without paneer) 1131kcal

Dessert:

  • Valrhona chocolate and tonka bean crémeux sandwich, salted caramel, blackcurrant sorbet (v|d|g) 639kcal
  • Chocolate mousse (ve)

Event entrance:

Unless you are checking into a room, please use the venue’s event entrance, located on Whitworth Street (pictured), opposite JD GymsMap and photo of event entrance

By car:

As you exit the car park, the hotel is on your left.

By tram:

The nearest tram stop is St Peter’s Square (6-minute walk). Click here for a tram map (opens in new window).

As you exit the tram stop, turn left onto Oxford Road.

Keep walking until you see the Palace Theatre on your left. Turn left onto Whitworth Road to access the event entrance.

By train:

The nearest train station is Manchester Piccadilly. The hotel is a 15-minute walk, or you can get a tram to St Peter’s Square. 

By bus:

Buses 85, 86, 250, 263 and 85A stop directly outside the hotel.

Turn right after the hotel to access the event entrance.

Travelling together:

If you're a member of staff and would like to see if any guests live near you and want to travel together,visit our intranet staff noticeboard (you'll need to log in).

The venue has offered a fixed room rate for the first 30 rooms bookings made before 14 October:

  • Bed and Breakfast single occupancy: £225 (+ £1.20 city visitor charge)
  • Bed and breakfast double occupancy: £245 (+ £1.20 city visitor charge)

This is the perfect opportunity to wear something special that makes you feel great!

But there's absolutely no expectation for you to buy something new. 

Black tie and sparkles are optional but very welcome.

Our award finalists and long serving colleagues (only) are welcome to bring a guest.

There's no charge to bring a Pennine Care colleague.

If you would like to bring a family member or friend, we need to ask for a 50% contribution towards the cost per head (as we can’t use Trust money).  This year, it will be a £30 contribution.
