Tameside & Glossop Psychological Therapies Services

This service is available to support psychological interventions in the Secondary Care Mental Health service offering direct psychological therapy and interventions to clients mostly seen at our base and indirect psychological support to staff via supervision, training and consultation.

Inpatients on the psychiatric wards can be offered a psychological assessment or a neuropsychological assessment.

Our referrals come from Care Coordinators in the Community Mental Health Teams and Consultant Psychiatrists for service users that meet eligibility criteria for secondary care mental health services.

Individual therapies available include:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Cognitive Analytic Therapy
  • Art Psychotherapy
  • Integrative Therapies
  • Clinical Psychology an
  • Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Group interventions include Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, an Emotional Regulation Group, Compassionate Mind Training Group and a Bipolar Therapeutic Group.

Clients can be referred for a screening for a range of cognitive difficulties excluding dementia; this may lead to offering a full neuropsychological assessment.
