This year Children’s Mental Health Week runs from 6 – 12 February and the theme chosen by Place2Be is ‘let’s connect’.

Building healthy connections - with family, friends and others – can support our mental health and wellbeing. And when we don’t work on these connections we can sometimes feel isolated and lonely, which can have a negative impact on our mental health.

So the focus of this week is to encourage people to connect with others in healthy, rewarding, and meaningful ways.

Students said they found sessions engaging and enjoyed practicing some cognitive behavioural therapy techniques, which can help with overcoming anxiety and low mood.

Matt from our young people’s mental health support service in Rochdale has shared this advice on connecting with others.

Visit our CAMHS webpages to find out more about the services in your local area.
