Bury Paediatric Occupational Therapy Service

Paediatric occupational therapists work with children in order to maximise their participation and functional independence in daily activities at home and at school or nursery.

These activities include self-care, play and leisure and productivity at school or nursery.

We work in partnership with parents, education, social care and nursery staff. We aim to provide a locally based and responsive service for all the children and families in Bury.

We aim to assist children to attain their maximum physical potential with enhancing quality of life whilst at the same time assisting parents/ carers in achieving a greater understanding of their childs needs.

We deliver a service based in the community, in all mainstream and special schools, nurseries and in the home, depending on need.

A typical referral to our service will result in the child being seen at the Bury Living Well Centre for assessment of their Occupational Therapy needs.

Following this assessment the child may be offered interventions to develop specific skills along with advice and support for the child and their family/carers.
