Supporting the LGBT community
At Pennine Care we are committed to ensuring that staff and service users are free from discrimination regardless of their gender or sexual orientation.
As part of this, we support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) History Month which takes place in February
LGBT History Month focuses on increasing the visibility of LGBT people, LGBT milestones throughout history and issues that still exist.
Through raising this awareness, the goal is to promote equality and diversity for the benefit of everyone.
To support the month, please take a look at the following resources and websites:
LGBT Staff Network
One of the ways we support our staff who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans (LGBT) is through a dedicated LGBT Staff Network.
The group meets regularly with the aim of supporting staff in their working lives, raising awareness of issues affecting the LGBT community and helping the Trust to ensure the workplace remains free from discrimination.
Every year the group actively participates in the Manchester Pride Parade, along with supporting a number of other events.
If you work for the Trust, you may wish to join the LGBT Staff Network Facebook group.
Details of future meetings will be posted in due course.
