Hurst Place accepts males aged 18 to 65 years who are detained under the Mental Health Act (although they may be informal whilst working through the discharge pathway).
Service users who have not lived in the community for a number of years with challenging behaviours and engage them in a recovery and social inclusion focused rehabilitation programme so that they have the skills and resources to live as part of the community.
We aim to create a home environment that provides safety and security whilst service users take part in their rehabilitation programme.
Service has access to all the NHS has to offer whilst at the same time ensuring that service users can access all community resources.
The primary function of the unit is to provide short-term, intensive, assessment and treatment for those patients who cannot be safely managed on a general psychiatric acute ward.
