Beckett Place is a ten bedded Female only unit for the rehabilitation needs of women aged 18 to 65 who are detained under the Mental Health Act.
The service users have a primary diagnosis of serious mental illness, who are not acutely ill but have a level of psychosocial disability that requires rehabilitation with in a 24 hour facility.
The service users are usually a high to medium risk to self or others.
They may have a secondary diagnosis of personality disorder and may present with challenging behaviour.
They may have a history of illicit substance or alcohol misuse. They may also have an index offence and be subjected to a treatment and/or detention order made by the Ministry of Justice.
