Bury Adult Speech & Language Therapy
We provide a speech and language therapy service adults who are registered with a GP in Bury.
We assess, diagnose and help patients manage any communication, swallowing or voice disorder that is acquired in adulthood.
We aim to maximise the potential of patients requiring our service to improve or maintain their communication and/or swallowing by promoting independence.
We may see patients with the following conditions, although this list is not exhaustive:
- Parkinson's Disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Acquired neurological disorders
- Head and neck cancer (excluding laryngectomy)
- Hyperfunctional voice disorders
Our intervention may involve: assessment, diagnosis, advice, therapy if appropriate and advice to carers or relatives.

Referrals for swallowing difficulties must come from a registered clinician. Referrals for voice assessment will be accepted with an ENT report in last six months
