Staff benefits, training and development
As people who look after others for a living, it’s important we look after ourselves too. Therefore, the health and wellbeing of our staff is of vital importance here at Pennine Care.
There are a number of ways in which we provide help for staff who need it.
Staff Wellbeing Service
The Staff Wellbeing Service is available to all employees for help and support with psychological difficulties that are impacting on work.
Occupational Health Service
The Trust’s occupational health service supports staff that have physical injuries, ongoing sickness, any other problems concerns that may be linked to their physical health.
We appreciate that staff have busy lives and so the Trust operates a flexible working policy. Working flexibly may be as simple as asking to start half an hour laterthan usual or may be a bigger change to working hours in order to achieve a better work-life balance.
Staff Health and Wellbeing programme
The Trust has a Staff Health and Wellbeing Group that looks at coordinating key promotional campaigns and activities across all services. They run themed activities throughout the year to encourage staff to make improvements to their health and lifestyle.
Staff Health and Wellbeing Forum
This online forum provides a space for you to share knowledge and find out more about health and wellbeing within the Trust and locally.
Other employee benefits at Pennine Care include:
- Training and development opportunities
- Job share opportunities
- Career break opportunities
- Childcare vouchers
- Cycle to work scheme
- Lease car scheme
- Regular staff meetings with opportunities for feedback
Pennine Care is keen to promote a culture of continuous improvement and development that is inclusive of all staff, in all roles and within all areas of work. We have a comprehensive training and development offer that is open to all.
Individual Performance and Development Reviews
Every member of staff will have an annual personal development review to appraise progress and set future priorities. This is a documented discussion between an individual and a manager and contributes towards the progression of pay through Agenda for Change.
The Trust offers a comprehensive range of training and development opportunities for a variety of clinical, professional and administrative topics all year round.
Core and Essential Skills Training
All staff are expected to ensure they are fully compliant with their Core and Essential Skills Training (CEST). Upon induction, you will be asked to complete all the required training for your level and role, but it is up to you to make sure you keep this up to date before the training renewal date.
Coaching is suitable for anyone who has identified specific work issues or learning goals and would like an opportunity to work with a coach who can facilitate learning in a challenging yet supportive environment
