More about the role

Mental health liaison practitionersOur 24/7 liaison services provide responsive mental health care in acute hospital and A&E settings, to bridge the gap between mental and physical health. Our teams provide psychiatric assessment and treatment to those patients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems including; depression, anxiety, psychosis, dementia and delirium.

Adults with mental health problems are five times more likely to be admitted to a general hospital as an emergency, so a liaison mental health service is an essential component of any high-performing general hospital ensuring a person’s mental health needs are addressed when they are in hospital for their physical health needs.

We can promise you a fulfilling role, which is varied, challenging and an integral part of the health service.
