Apprenticeship boost for Pennine Care
We are working hard to raise the number of apprenticeships within our trust.
In-line with the new government target, which aims to raise the number of apprenticeship starts to 3 million by 2020, we welcomed 23 new apprentices between 1 April 2017 and 31 March 2018.
These apprentices accounted for 2.4% of our new starter workforce (totalling 960).
Currently, 0.42% of our total staff are apprentices. With a 2.3% target set by government for the public sector, we still have some work to do to match this.

To continue progressing our apprenticeship programmes, we have set up a working group to help increase apprenticeships in our trust, and find ways apprentices can support our care delivery.
We are already seeing great results from our efforts, as over 30 apprentices have started with us in this financial year. With another quarter of the year to go, we are optimistic this number will continue to grow.
