A quick like for health advice in Trafford

Three Trafford health services have set up new social media accounts to support local people to live well.

Staff at computerThe services, part of Pennine Care, have launched dedicated pages to provide advice, topical information and an easy way to contact a health professional.

These include Trafford Ear Care and Trafford Dietitians Facebook pages and a Trafford School Nursing Instagram account.

Trafford Dietitians is run by the Trafford Community Nutrition and Dietetics Service. The dietitians are qualified health professionals who assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems.

The team use the page to share information on a wide range of topical issues related to nutrition and diet, based on current evidence.

Alison Ford, Clinical Specialist for Nutrition and Dietetics, said "We want to make it easy for people to have access to correct nutritional information"

Trafford School Nurses have joined Instagram (@traffordschoolnursing) to help share important health messages with young people and to show what the team have been up to.

Sarah Miley, School Nursing Team Leader, said: “We want to reach out to school children via this popular platform to educate on health issues and provide another way for them to confidentially contact us.”

Trafford Ear Care Service has taken to Facebook to give topical advice on how to look after your ears at home.

The team also use the page to show the availability of their clinics should someone need ear clearance or wax removal.

These accounts join existing Facebook pages based in Trafford, including Trafford Health Visitors, Trafford School Nurses and Trafford Speech and Language Therapy.
