We are a 10 bedded male psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU). Our unit is the gate keeping facility for all PICU placements, including women’s PICU services, across our Trust’s footprint.
Our main role is to provide short-term, intensive assessment and treatment for you, if you can’t be safely managed on a general psychiatric acute ward.
Some of our treatments include patient involvement and personalised planned care.
We treat all of our patients with dignity and respect at all times, so we can help you achieve your optimum level of independence, functioning and wellbeing.
We’re committed to working in a non-judgmental manner, with the upmost consideration given to your religious and cultural beliefs, gender, ethnic background, age, sexual orientation and/or disability.
You can be referred into our service in many different ways, including directly from the community, general psychiatric wards, 136 suites, police cells, courts and prisons.
We've created virtual tour of Cobden Unit, using 360-degree photography. Take a look around the unit.
