We're looking forward to welcoming you to our Pennine Care People Awards, where we'll celebrate the outstanding contributions of our award finalists and long serving colleagues. 

Our event is paid for through sponsorship and promises to be a fantastic evening, with heart-warming stories of colleagues going over and above to improve people's lives.

Below is everything you need to know about the event.

Date

Thursday 1 December 2022.

Times

Dinner and the main ceremony will run from 7pm to 10.45pm. However, we hope you can join us earlier for a welcome drink and join our afterparty. 

  • 6pm to 7pm: enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and chat to colleagues

  • 7pm to 8.45pm: three course dinner 

  • 8.45pm to 10.45pm: main ceremony. After hearing the inspiring story of gold medal winning Paralympian Aaron Phipps, we’ll unveil our 12 award champions, learn more about their outstanding contributions and celebrate our long serving colleagues

  • 10.45pm to 12.30am: dance the night away with our live band, Squeezebox. The lead singer and guitarist is a consultant paramedic for education for North West Ambulance Service. Our private bar will be open for drinks and accepts cash or card payments.

Please arrive no later than 6.50pm to allow us time to sign you in and seat you.

Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, Portland Street, Manchester, M1 4PH.

When you arrive you can enjoy a welcome drink of sparkling white wine or fresh orange juice.  You can buy drinks from our private bar, which will be open for most of the evening. They accept cash or card.

The following delicious options are available for dinner:

Starter:

  • Slow roast tomato soup, basil pesto cream (v)
  • Slow cooked belly pork and confit duck terrine, apple and cider chutney
  • Warm goat’s cheese and caramelised onion tart, herb salad, balsamic dressing (v)

Main:

  • Roast chicken supreme, red onion and thyme stuffing, roast chicken gravy
  • Pan fried sea bass, sea salt and rosemary potatoes, red pepper butter
  • Wild mushroom gnocchi, rocket pesto (v)

Dessert:

  • Warm chocolate brownie and ice cream
  • Glazed lemon tart, raspberry and mint compote
  • Vanilla panna cotta, strawberry and cracked black pepper salsa

The entrance to the hotel is located on Portland Street, opposite Bar Rogue.

By car:

The car park post code is M1 4BD. The charges are:

  • £8.00 for half day parking (up to 4 hours)
  • £15.00 for day parking (up to 12 hours)
  • £20.00 for overnight parking (up to 24 hours)

By tram:

The Piccadilly gardens tram stop is right outside the hotel. As you exit the platform, cross Parker Street, and turn right on to Portland Street. The entrance is on the right.

By train:

The nearest train station is Manchester Piccadilly. The hotel is a 10-minute walk, or you can get a tram to the above tram stop. Click here to search tram routes

We’ve opted for a formal dress code, so this is the perfect opportunity to dig out that special outfit that makes you feel great!

Black tie and sparkles are optional but encouraged.

We’ve invited all colleagues who have, or will, achieve a 20, 30 or 40 year milestone in the 22/23 financial year (1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023) to celebrate with us at the event.

We won’t be providing your certificates or vouchers at the event. If you’ve achieved your milestone before the event on 1 December, these should already have been sent to you. If your milestone is after the event, they will be sent to you in due course.
